By accessing or using our website, submitting an enquiry, accepting a quote or engaging us to perform work, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use our website or services.
In these Terms, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Hills Plumbing & Drainage, and “you” and “your” refer to the person or entity accessing the website or engaging our services.
2. Website use
The content on our website is provided for general information only. It is not professional advice and should not be relied on as a substitute for an on‑site inspection or tailored advice for your property.
You agree that you will not:
- Use the website for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the website or our systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the website
- Copy, modify, reproduce or distribute website content without our permission, except where allowed by law
We may update, change or withdraw any part of the website at any time without notice.
3. Quotes, pricing & invoices
Any prices stated on our website are indicative only and may change at any time. A formal quote or estimate will usually be provided after we have assessed your property or received sufficient information about the work.
Unless otherwise stated, quotes:
- Are based on the information you provide at the time of quoting
- May be subject to change if the scope of work changes or unexpected issues are identified
- May be valid only for a limited time, as advised on the quote
Additional costs may arise where we encounter concealed conditions, unsafe wiring or plumbing, non‑compliant existing installations, difficult access, extra materials or other unforeseen issues. We will discuss any significant changes with you where reasonably possible before proceeding.
4. Access to your property
You agree to provide us with safe and reasonable access to your property so we can carry out the work.
You are responsible for telling us about any known hazards or issues that may affect safety or the work, such as asbestos, unsafe structures, dogs on site or difficult access.
You are also responsible for clearly identifying the location of any underground services where relevant, such as power, gas, water, telecommunications, septic systems and stormwater. We will take reasonable care but are not liable for damage to services that were not reasonably identifiable or disclosed.
5. Changes, delays & cancellations
If you need to change or cancel an appointment, please contact us as soon as possible. We will do our best to accommodate changes but cannot guarantee availability.
We may reschedule or delay work where necessary due to weather, safety concerns, supplier delays or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control. If this happens, we will aim to provide you with as much notice as practicable.
6. Payment terms
Unless we agree otherwise in writing:
- Payment is due on completion of the work or as stated on the invoice
- We may require a deposit or progress payments for larger jobs, custom orders or specialist equipment
- Payment methods will be outlined on our invoice or agreed with you in advance
If payment is not made by the due date, we may charge reasonable late fees or interest and may suspend further work until payment is received.
7. Warranties & guarantees
We aim to carry out all work with due care and skill and in accordance with applicable laws and standards. Our work may be covered by guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law, and by any specific workmanship or product warranties we provide.
Manufacturer warranties for parts and equipment are subject to the terms and conditions of the relevant manufacturer or supplier. You may be required to register products or keep proof of purchase to make a claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantees, rights or remedies that cannot be excluded under Australian law.
8. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, special or consequential loss, or for any loss of profit, revenue, business or opportunity arising out of your use of the website or our services.
Where our liability cannot be excluded under applicable law, and where it is lawful to do so, our liability is limited (at our option) to:
- Resupplying the services
- Paying the cost of having the services supplied again
You are responsible for ensuring that any work requested is suitable for your property and for obtaining any necessary approvals, unless we have expressly agreed in writing to handle approvals on your behalf.
9. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, we own or license all intellectual property rights in the content on our website, including text, images, layout and design.
You may view and download content for your personal, non‑commercial use. You must not reproduce, distribute, modify or create derivative works from our content without our prior written consent, except where allowed by law.
